How do I start local 2-player co-op? 如何开始本地双人联机?

Both players need iPhones or iPads on the same Wi-Fi network — Bluetooth also works. From the Main Menu, tap 2P. One device hosts, the other joins. Both must allow "Local Network" permission when iOS prompts.

I bought a tip in the Tip Jar but didn't see the hearts. 我打赏后没看到爱心。

Open Community → Wall of Survivors; hearts should appear once the App Store finalizes the purchase. If they don't show within a few minutes, restart the app. If still missing, email us with your purchase receipt and we'll investigate.

The leaderboard isn't loading. 排行榜加载不出来。

The leaderboard uses Apple Game Center, which requires an internet connection and a signed-in Game Center account. Open iOS Settings → Game Center to confirm sign-in. If still failing, try toggling Game Center off and on, then relaunch the app.

I lost my run progress. 我的进度没了。

Z Squad autosaves the active run when you background the app (e.g., during a call or via the app switcher). When you reopen, "Single Player" lets you resume. Progress is intentionally wiped when you finish a run, restart, or enter a boss arena. Saves are local to the device and not synced across devices.

Does the game work offline? 游戏能离线玩吗?

Yes. The full single-player game works offline. Internet is only required for Game Center leaderboards, Tip Jar purchases, and submitting suggestions via Community → Leave a Message. Local 2-player co-op uses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth between your two devices — no internet needed.

Why does the game ask for "Local Network" permission? 为什么要"本地网络"权限?

Only for local 2-player co-op. The game uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework, which discovers nearby devices via Bonjour on the local network. Z Squad does not transmit any data outside your local network — no tracking, no analytics, no external servers.

How do I report a bug? 如何报告 bug?

Email contact@zsquad.app with a brief description of the bug, your device model (e.g., "iPhone 14 Pro"), your iOS version (Settings → General → About → iOS Version), and your game version (Main Menu → Settings → Version). Screenshots or screen recordings help a lot.

I want a refund. 我想退款。

Refunds for App Store purchases — including Tip Jar tips — are handled by Apple, not by the developer. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to submit a refund request.

The game crashes or freezes. 游戏闪退 / 卡死。

First try force-quitting the app, then relaunch. If the issue persists, restart your device. If still happening, email us with: the moment it crashes (e.g., "during boss fight"), device model, iOS version, and game version. We track all reported crashes and ship fixes in following updates.

What we collect

数据收集

Z Squad requires no account creation, sign-up, or sign-in to play, and contains no ads and no third-party tracking. We collect no personal information except the limited, identity-linked data described below, which is only created when you choose to use the optional leaderboard and feedback features.

Local data

本地数据

Game progress, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults system. This data never leaves your device. When you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is automatically deleted by iOS.

Apple Game Center(排行榜)

The optional global leaderboards use Apple's Game Center, which displays your Game Center alias alongside your scores — distance traveled, zombies killed, their local co-op variants, and your total supporter ❤ (from the Tip Jar, see below) — on public leaderboards. Game Center data is handled by Apple — see Apple's Privacy Policy. Score and supporter-❤ uploading is on by default; you can turn it off in Settings → Upload Scores, or sign out of Game Center entirely from iOS Settings.

Local 2-player co-op

Local co-op uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to connect two devices directly. No game state, account information, or device identifier is transmitted to any external server during a co-op session — all communication is peer-to-peer between the two connected devices on your local network.

The optional Tip Jar uses Apple's StoreKit framework. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple — Z Squad does not see, store, or transmit any payment information. We do record the total number of "hearts" your tips have granted: this total is stored on your device, synced via iCloud (see below), and submitted under your Game Center alias to a public "Supporter" leaderboard. So the hearts total is tied to your Game Center identity — it is not anonymous — but the underlying purchase and payment details never reach us.

The total number of "hearts" you've accumulated through the Tip Jar is synchronized across your devices using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. This is the only data we sync, and it never leaves Apple's iCloud infrastructure.

Community suggestions

建议箱(CloudKit)

If you choose to submit feedback through Community → Leave a Message, your message is sent through Apple's CloudKit to our app's iCloud container, where only the developer reviews it (via the CloudKit dashboard). Each submission includes the text you wrote, your Game Center alias, the app version, and your device locale, and is linked to your iCloud account. Submissions are not shown to other players inside the game. We may use them to improve the game.
